Baking was in my blood from an early age all thanks to my Nanny Ellen. She would spend many hours every weekend we spent together baking everything from delicious homemade puddings; rice pudding and jam roly poly to name a few, to the traditional Viccy sponge with generous lashings of homemade jam and freshly whipped chantelley cream.
As time went by i realised i had a knack of making the sponges perfectly moist, the chocolate fondants perfectly gooey and the cookies chewy soft. This lead to part time work whilst at school working in Simply Simpsons on the Strand in London watching some of the most amazingly talented pastry chefs produce something incredible from a few simple ingredient. I picked up many hints, tips and great recipes on the way and made them my own.
Expectation now falls on me for birthdays, anniversaries and more recently weddings to come up with the goods and create some special cakes. Finally i thought to myself why not open a business and do what i love best and bake away to my hearts content and sell my tasty treats. So here we are with Cake Guy, where everything is truly handmade with love.
